Some facts about the Polish language:
— Polish belongs to the hardest languages of the Slavic group. For instance, compared with Russian, it has two extra cases – locative and vocative.
— The Polish phonetics is characterized by a large number of sibilant sounds whereby it’s easy to recognize it. Also, Polish is one of the few Slavic languages in which nasal vowels are still used.
— Lexically, the language was largely influenced by the West: there are many derivations from Latin (which overall ties in with the Polish conservative catholic tradition), French, Italian, and, especially, German (for geographical reasons).
